Music Ministry
Chancel Choir
J. Christine Le, Director of Music
The Chancel Choir is open to all members of the congregation as well as non-members, starting August 14. There is no audition; simply contact Christine Le at christine@standrewdenton.com, or show up to our Wednesday rehearsal! The ability to read music is helpful, but not required. We rehearse in the adult choir room at 7:30pm on Wednesday evenings and in the chancel on Sunday mornings at 10:00am. If you feel the call to sing, please consider joining this group of dedicated singers.
Handbell Choir
Kirsten Trachsel, Director
The St. Andrew Handbell Choir rehearses weekly on Thursday evenings from 6:00pm-7:00pm in the adult choir room. The ensemble provides music for worship services on a monthly basis throughout the school year. Youth and adults are invited to participate. No prior experience is necessary, but basic music literacy is helpful. Childcare is provided during rehearsals.
Children’s Choirs
Kirsten Trachsel, Director
Two children’s choirs are offered at St. Andrew and both rehearse on Wednesday evenings. The Noel Choir (age kindergarten and 1st grade) meets from 6:00pm–6:20pm. Covenant Choir (2nd through 5th grades) rehearses from 6:20pm-7:00pm. The choirs give children the opportunity to experience the joy of praising God through music and to participate in worship at a young age. The choirs will also have opportunities to learn and play hand chimes and percussion instruments. The children’s choir room is located on the second floor directly above the church office. All children are invited to participate!
Westminster Youth Ensemble
Kirsten Trachsel, Director
Participation in the Westminster Youth Ensemble gives middle and high school youth an opportunity to participate in the Church more fully and to deepen their relationship with God through music. The ensemble meets on Sunday mornings from 9:00am-9:30am in the children’s choir room. All youth are invited to participate. No musical experience is necessary. Participants will learn instrumental (percussion, wind instruments, and hand chimes) and vocal music for participation in worship.
